Nova's Fun Dog Club
Be who you are,
chase what you love,
wag with pride!
Hello!
My name is Jackie, and I am the Business Owner and Fun Dog Coach at Nova’s Fun Dog Club. I am also an apprentice at Poochadise Canine Services.
I began working with dogs at just 12 years old, volunteering with Lincolnshire, Essex & Trent Boxer Rescue, where I assisted with fundraising, kennel care, and administration. I continued to work in the kennels and support rescue until I was 32. I have always had rescue dogs in my life and a strong passion for giving dogs a second chance.
.
My first special companion was Crumpet, an American Bulldog who spent 17 months in kennels due to her size, reactivity, and sensitivity around children. She was misunderstood and simply needed safety and trust. She brought so much love into my life, and we sadly said goodbye to Crumps at the age of seven following a short battle with cancer.

Dotty (affectionately known as Dotty Dingbat), a French Bulldog, came from a breeding farm after having five litters by the age of six. She had to relearn how to simply be a dog, and went on to enjoy her golden years with me here in Dorset, passing at the remarkable age of 14½.
Nova, the inspiration behind Nova’s Fun Dog Club, came to me after four homes before her first birthday. She carried anxiety from her early experiences, and through patience and understanding, we’ve built an incredible bond. Together we love exploring the hills and beaches of Dorset.

In 2023, I began attending Fun Agility classes with Poochadise Canine Services and soon progressed into Flyball. I was immediately drawn to the energy, positivity, and focus on enjoyment in every session — it marked the beginning of a new chapter for me.
Kat, the owner of Poochadise Canine Services, shares my vision of fun, relationship-focused, confidence-building dog training. Her encouragement inspired me to pursue my goal of becoming a Dog Coach, and with her support I have been learning, shadowing, and developing my skills ever since. I started my extensive Fun Flyball training in 2024 and launched my own Fun Flyball in Branksome in 2025 by the name of Super Nova's Dog Academy. We changed our name to Nova's Fun Dog Club in 2026.
Kat designed Fun Flyball, adapting the traditional sport so that dogs of all breeds and abilities can take part. I am incredibly grateful that she has shared this concept and trusted me to be part of its delivery and development.
I currently work alongside Kat on Sundays, delivering Beginner and Intermediate Agility classes, as well as Puppy Sports Foundations — including Rally, Hoopers, Flyball, Agility, and Scent Work, all adapted specifically for puppies.
Alongside this, I am completing a Dog Behaviour Diploma with the British College of Canine Studies.
Companion Assistant Dog Trainer

Many people don't realise that there are currently no formal regulations around becoming a dog trainer - meaning, unfortunately anyone can claim to be one, regardless of experience or qualifications.
While hands-on experience is incredibly valuable, I believe that true professionalism comes from combining practical learning, ongoing education, and ethical strandards.
That's why I'm proud to be part of the Guild of Dog Trainers, an organisation that carefully verifies every applicant, checks references, and ensures its members are genuinely qualified and committed to best practice.
The Guild have investigated and verified my experience and qualification - take a look here...
